Mt. Monadnock is one of the most popular hiking destinations in NH. So much so that people want to limit the # of hikers due to the erosion they're causing. The word monadnock has come to mean an isolated hill surrounded by flatter terrain and most likely derives from a Native American word meaning smooth mountain. Anyway, I was too late in the day to hike it, but I walked around a pond at its base and got these. Damn I love fall.
