IE problem: Viewers can't change gallery style

Hi,

I am both new to this forum and to SmugMug. I purchased membership a couple of weeks ago and have since then spent some time on customizing my page. Thanks to all for the very helpful discussions in the forum - so far I did not have to post a single question myself.

This changes today, since I could not find a solution to a specific problem, yet: I configured all of my galleries on www.schuppener.com ('Photos') to allow users changing the gallery style. Whereas this works like a charm in Safari and Firefox, it simply doesn't in IE (I only tested v8).

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance,

Jan

Hi, first off - it looks like you are using domain forwarding for http://www.schuppener.com/ - we only Support CNAME and that information is here: http://www.smugmug.com/help/professional-accounts If you need help, no worries, just please write our Support Heroes and we'll get you a domain expert.

I'm pretty sure this will fix the problem.

    Hi Andy,

thanks for the quick reply! You were right: The problems were caused by domain forwarding instead of using a CNAME. I changed that and the slideshows work just fine.

Unfortunately that leads to a different problem: Now I won't be able to use the mail addresses associated with that domain :cry Guess I will change it back and live with the problems associated with domain forwarding.
Any other issue caused by this apart from styles not working in IE that comes to your mind?

    Cheers,

    Jan

Jan, we do not support ANY type of forwarding, I'm sorry. Please do not change it back. CNAME has nothing to do with MX (mail) records, and your domain host should be able to handle both. You can please write our Support Heroes and our domain experts can advise you.

Please do not change it back to forwarding, we cannot support that.

    Thanks,

    Andy
