Just thought I'd drop you guys a quick note to say 'Thanks' for the recent updates and the fantastic support here on Dgrin !

Whilst I share some of the frustrations that others have voiced about warning of changes and documentation, at the end of the day, given the features, functionality and pricing I can't really complain - besides, you're never going to please everyone all the time and trying to is a sure route to madness :uhoh (been there, done that, got the t-shirt !)

Now if the goons at Microsoft could just get IE to behave.......

I've got a couple of suggestions that I'll post in the enhancements thread, but one biggie for those of us in Europe is the printing - the UK and France are the main markets for my photos and the feedback I'm getting so far is that $ pricing and shipping from the US just isn't an attractive option. Any chance ( I know..... but you can't blame me for asking !) of integrating to more than one printing provider - Photobox here in the UK use the same printers as EZPrint and offer £, $ and € pricing......

In the meantime, give yourselves a pat on the back and get some cold beers down your neck !

Cheers,
Mark

I agree completely, it is not cost effective for friends or family of mine in the UK to order a few prints of my snaps if they want them. Aside from posting from USA, they are expensive to start with accepting the smallest size. If I need to post photos to Photobox as well for people to order prints cost effectively, then it makes me think twice about using Smugmug, even though I love all the other things it brings (except the new default green colour).

I have mentioned it a couple of times (as an aside really) in emails to smugmug customer support but no clues have been forthcoming as to whether local printing is on the horizon. I am just a snapper, I don't know how many non USA/Canada pro's they have on the books to whom this would presumably be a much bigger thing too...

    Cheers.

    EU Printing
Oh, and I could think of using smugmug for my own prints too then.

I am also in the UK & agree that this would be great - the USA only printing is the reason why I have turned off the shopping cart in all my galleries. If this option was available I think it would get a lot of use. I suppose it all depends how many UK users Smugmug has as to the likely level of demand.

One more vote for UK printing!

I'm in Gibraltar not UK, but UK would be close enough! I also use photobox regularly and £1.69 shipping is acceptable. But the photobox pro galleries dont give me the control/features I want.

Count me in on the idea of an EU based printing lab!

Mark, and everyone - thanks for posting. Mark - especially for the kind words - which I for sure will make sure that everyone on the team sees! It goes a long way - and it makes it so worthwhile to hear it from you!

Here's what I said in another thread today about European printing:

As far as a printing lab in Europe, I'm sorry we don't have one. A while back, we underwent an extensive shootout in order to choose the lab we've got now. In order to keep quality control, and customer satisfaction high, we'll be sticking with US-based printing for the time being. If we can get to the point where we can replicate the service levels we've got, we'd consider an overseas lab.

We know it's tough for our non-US customers, with the shipping fees and the longer deliveries. So, we'd really love to do it, but I think there's a lot to be done in order to make it happen. We'll sure look hard at it as a possibility. Thanks again for taking the time to let us know how important it is to you, and thanks for being our customer!

    All the best,
