    Hello, thdizzy
that is what I call a keeper.
    Excellent shot!

I lived on that stretch of beach, not 4 miles south, for 8+ years.

    A gorgeous area indeed.
Straight across from the Channel Islands as I am sure you are quite familiar.
It would be an excellent photograph to stick under the 100's of Million$ beach home doors, that are located right next door to that lovely shot.

Why don't between the two of us, we find out who owns that particular power plant and send them a link to your picture, as I am sure that the head honchos would love a print to display at Corporate headquarters.

Perhaps you could sell them a poster size print!

    What do think.

    Regards,

I, too, used to live in Oxnard and that power plant, which sends most of its output to LA, is a major source of polution. The trash in the marsh is not from the power plant, however. umph.gif

    Hello Ashby,

ThDizzy, what kind of pollution did it look like to you?

Looks like the following is the plant in question
    http://www.bren.ucsb.edu/research/2001Group_Projects/Ormond/Public/main.htm
    located from:
    http://www.mesothel.com/pages/plantmap_pag.htm

Ashby, after reading a little further, you might be right. It appears that the good guys got this one covered (figuratively speaking) nicely.

Well it's wans't petroleum based, it was some other type of waste; just not sure. Although it didn't lead directly to the water (it was about 40-50 yards away) it had to be seeping into the water table below and still ending up in the ocean.

I don't think I ever seen such a beautiful yet sad shot, it's almost like the sun is setting on mankind and this is our legacy. Anyway, great shot, very powerful...
