Pickings are tough around here, no insects! I did find this huge Mantis and a Jumper.

    great jumper shots, like compositions

    dont think mantis shots work ccomposition wise! lighting looking better though :D
    are you in texas? seen a few shots of this species from that state recently

    beautiful images the detail is so clear I imagine onece winter sets in bug shots will get really really slim pickens

    I am in NC. The Mantis is so big, I can't get all of him in the frame? I have seen many of these, but never one this size.

    Well I wish I could find a mantid :) - good shots. Esp like the last jumper shot.

    Thanks guys. That means alot comming from you guys. I just wish there was something to photograph. Can't practise without a subject. Like Phil says, I think I have the lighting alot better, just need to work on composition. I have been reading the rules of 3, and makes sence. Now if I can get the insects to pose.
