Exercising the new camera. A lot to get use to after shooting D300 for 3 years. Where is that button now. doh the selector dial was bump on to another setting
I will get use to it. Edited with View NX2 having issues with Capture NX2 even after updating call into Nikon

Congrats on your new camera and I'm looking forward to see your future results.

How does it compare to the D300?

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

It is a very capable camera. Going from the D300 to it the biggest thing is getting use to the different button layout. I could run the D300 in the dark but then I had been using it for 3 years. AF system is comparable with 39 points it does not caver the same area of the viewfinder. But seems to work the same. I do not use the 3D tracking or Auto much, most of the time is is just on single point and I move it around as needed. The focus point lock lever is a good idea. I have hit the selector dial of few times on accident and change settings. All of sudden my shots are dark because it has gone from A to M. I miss the memory door lock lever and the 100% focus review function on the multiselector.
I like the build quality and feel.
