smugmug.albums.get fails to return Category name

snapwoodsnapwood Registered Users Posts: 27 Big grins
It appears starting last night that smugmug.albums.get has stopped returning the name attribute for an album's Category. Any plans to get this fixed?

JSON: {
"Albums": [
{
"id": 13304997,
"ImageCount": 16,
"Description": "This is a test gallery. Nothing to see here.... move on.",
"Category": {"id": 3},

Thanks,

Brian

    I will second that request, it has broken my plugin SmuginForAperture. I am in the process of putting together an alternative method of getting the category names but fixing this would be great!

    This change is causing SmugWallet on the iPhone to crash as well. Getting a lot of reports starting this morning. Please restore this key asap if possible. Thanks! --Matt

    Oh oh, I will alert Devbobo immediately. He is in Australia so it is still early for him, but he will get on this.

    G'day Guys,

    Sorry about that. The issue is fixed internally, I'm just waiting for it to be pushed live.

    Cheers,

    I just ran into this on my iTouch Gen4. Had not downloaded in a while. Did 5 images and now SmugWallet crashes regularly. Even after a reboot of the iPod. Glad to hear the problem is already identified and a fix upgrade will hopefully be along soon! :D

    Has the solution propagated? Do I need a SmugWallet upgrade App? I'm still having instant crash of SmugWallet on my iTouch!

    The bug fix is live....and has been for some time, but I don't have the details of exactly when it went live as I was out most of yesterday (my time)

    I ended up deleting SmugWallet from my iTouch (which deleted all the data/images) and re storing the App. then re downloading all (2K images in 93 galleries). Not fun! but done!

    I sure hope there is another option then this, I'd hate to have to re-upload 1000's of photos.

    Unfortunately, it looks like that's the only option:

    Can now sync with SmugWallet (bug fixed). If still crashing, you will need to delete app and reinstall/resync (database corruption). Sorry!

    Got a link that works?

    That link does work (at least it does for me in Firefox. Take out the %21 if your browser doesn't like it). But it was just linked to the twitter post which I quoted below the link.

    That's the easiest option, but if you have 10,000+ photos or it will just take too long to resync, I can send you a development build that will stop the crashing. Unfortunately, a bug in my code combined with a bug in the API caused database corruption. So either delete the app and reinstall (if it is crashing) or email me at support@midnightmobility.com for a custom solution.
