I do like the composition very much. The first thing that came to mind is that I think this is a "golden spiral".
I didn't know what that was until I competed in one of the challenges which was "The Fibonacci series/the golden spiral" and I think yours is a sweet example of that.
My eye just flows right over it ending right at the baby's face.
Very nice composition and I think your low contrast works with this image.

That is such an astute observation... I have a passing familiarity with both the concepts, but never consciously bring it to photography. I knew there was something pleasing -- I thought maybe the "reverse L" arm/space positions but think the "Golden spiral" hits it on the nose. Thanks!
