No...I'm not insinuating that Smugmug is affected. But please watch out. The only site that's been divulged as being infected so far is Kelley's Blue Book website. So please don't go there out of curiosity ;)

To see if you're infected, do a search on your C: drive for surf.dat or Kk32.dll. If you find it, then you're probably infected.

The only recommended course of action at this time is to use mozilla or firefox browsers (which rock anyways :thumb ) The IE vulnerability has been known for 10 months and still not fixed.

It's a little bit shocking to see how bad Microsoft has let IE become. They simply stopped all development on it long ago, far before most web developers felt it was a robust product.

I'm hearing rumors that they're reconsituting the development team and will fix a lot of broken functionality. Let's hope it's true.

In the meantime, Firefox really does rock.

Me too. I am on a mac and use Safari and Firefox. I only wish the menus in Firefox had the aqua look, not PC look, but other than that it is ok.

I love Safari, but it still has its problems. I agree that Firefox is a great alternative to Safari, but I have a hard time getting past its ugly UI.

I'm still on Firebird. I've only had one or two hits with Spybot since making the switch. My only gripe is that plug-ins like Java need to be found and installed separately and they don't install easily - they refused to file in the Firebird plug-ins folder.

I am hoping Safari 2.0 will solve a lot of problems and speed it up when using multiple tabs.
