Leah and the New Flash

I bought a new Canon 580 EX II today so of course I took Leah out into the front yard to try it out. I had my 6 year old holding my old 420 EX as a slaved hairlight. I know it's not a perfect shot, but I am pretty stoked about the possibilities I now have once I do some learnin' with the new speedlight. Anyways, here is the shot.............

    Nice job, all you need now is a reflector or white card to bounce some of the light into her face so that it's not in shadow…

    I think that's absolutely gorgeous - it looks very natural and except for the catchlight (pinpoint and dead center - immediate giveaway of on-shoe flash!) at first glance I would have assumed careful placement of dappled sunlight for the lighting. Nice job! thumb.gif
