We took a trip up north this week and I thought it a good time to try out some star shots.
Trouble is, it's a full moon and darn bright! Nonetheless, here's the best shot of the bunch.
The Big Dipper. To be honest, the moon was so bright that I couldn't see the full constellation with the naked eye.

One thing I did notice was that despite all of the shutter-time recommendations regarding eliminating star movement, anything over 15 seconds resulted in a slight but noticeable arc for each star.

While I'm off, shooting in the woods, the fam was having a recreational bonfire. :D
Fire and stars in one shot!

The rest of the shots here.

I'm not a star shooter either, but the Moon is a big drag when it's out. I was fortunate enough to shoot with no moon for a couple of nights out west and what a difference it makes...
