1, is my favorite, but the butterfly blends into the background to much, and
the tip of the wing was cut off. But the camera angle, and the focus is
outstanding.
2, same as above, blends in to much with the flower.
3, Another very nice pic, but the yellow blob takes me away from the butterfly.
4, Another nice photo, I just wish the camera could have been down lower.
5, This is a really good photo. I think if you darken the yellow near the wings
just a bit, it will work very well.
As a series, the focus, color, and exposure are right on.
I hope you don't mind my take on your photos.
Basking in the shadows of yesterday's triumphs'.
Definitely #3-better comp, color and apparent sharpness/ I love the color in the wings and on the tip of the antlers/// Nice shot, wish I'd takin it Mereimage

I am greatful for all of the thoughtful comments. Some very good points. were made.
Sometimes you are too close to the images to evaluate them yourself, at least when they are new.
I usually wait a couple of weeks after they are taken and go back and look at them. Often I can be more critical of them when they are not fresh.
The butterfly in number three was beautiful. I took several shots before he flew off but they were all a bit soft except this one. am suprised it came out at all as the wind had picked up some and he was waving around like a flag on the fourth of july.
I wish it was a bit tighter, with a bit more room at the top. I had to back off a bit to have any hope of catching him/her in frame at all in mid sway.
I like the wasps, but I didn't think they would have the appeal that the butterflys do.
The detail in number one is cool, but as mentioned, the wing is clipped. A major flaw.
I liked the white one but he could stand out from the background a bit more. A little PS work would help that but the more I work on things the worse they tend to look. I may try it just for the practice.
I would like to thank you all for taking the time to look and to vote and/or comment.
