Little beetle

Just about 2 or 3mm in length, this little teeny weeny beetle was disturbed by the cat and started to walk across the flagstone at the edge of my little pond, so I stuck a leaf in front of it which the beetle obligingly stepped right onto, allowing me a nice little platform to use as my outdoor studio.

Not a clue what type it is, probably just a common ground beetle I expect.

Light was harsh so had to place a bit of a diffuser between the sun and the subject and burn in a little bit too, but came out reasonably well in the end.

C&C as always enjoyed.
