Went to do some charity work in Tanzania, and took a trip whilst i was there to the Serengeti National Safari Park.
Probably a mecca for keen wildlike photographers. I took 2000 pics in a space of 48 hours. These are a few that i like.
All pics are shot with a canon 400d, 18-55mm lens or 75-300mm lens. No post processing.

Feel free to leave criticism or praise as i am eager to improve.

You've taken some amazing photographs here. Sure did make the most of the opportunity! thumb.gif

A bit of processing will help to turn some good captures into awesome ones - even little things like straightening the horizon on a couple of them.

what kind of post processing would you recommend? i've never ventured into post processing at all!

I'm not good enough at the processing to give advice, but there are lots of people here who are brilliant at it who will surely help. For a start, though, you could tilt the photo of the black rhino and the herd of zebras so that the horizon is level. It's particularly noticeable on the photo of the zebra herd. :)

For the rest, a lot depends on what software you have available to you. And now I'll be quiet and let the people who are good at this help :)

Usually I'm not a fan of bumping old threads but since I'm heading off to Africa in a few months your pics really caught my attention and raised my excitement level up.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

lol thanks, i would thoroughly recommend a trip to the serengeti and the ngoragora crater. Try and sleep in the local campsites too, nothing gets your heart racing knowing you can hear elephant and lion calls in the middle of the night with only a thin layer of material between you and a wild animal!
