Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. I am also very new to photography. I liked taking pictures but never the technical stuff. I learned of aperture and shutter speed just 3 months ago and decided to purchase a Canon T1i (yes I am a Canon guy because I used a DSLR for general purpose at work taking pictures of flower arrangements). Since then I actually went overboard and started buying too many things. I started with purchacing a 50 1.8 then to a 24-105 4L to 70-200 2.8L IS II then 5D MK 2 with 16-35 2.8L with 2 White Lightning x1600 and 1 x800. Also picked up a Canon 580ex speedlite.

I've learned many things in the past 3 months and my progress has been very well. I love doing pretty much all types of work. I want to shoot weddings in genral and engagements. My off time I'd want to shoot modeling and floral arrangements for different florists. Working for a florist for 8 years have taught me a few things regarding flroal arrangement photography.

But anyway, enough about all of that. I want to post my first couple shoot. These are just a few pictures of many. I'd love to get C&C in them. Thank you!

I think you're off to a great start!

One thing to be on the lookout for are harsh shadows on faces when the sun is high in the sky. You mostly avoided it, but #5 and #8 have some shadows that are a little distracting. The way to work it is like you did in #6. Nicely done, best of the bunch.

    Keep going!

Agreed. The best thing IMHO to get to combat this is a nice large reflector/diffuser (and an assistant to hold it).

Thank you guys for all your comments! Appreciate it. Yes I have my speedlite on the check list for next time. I don't know why I didn't think of it. I did have a hute 5 ft tall reflector with me. The white didn't do much. Then when I used the silver side, they couldn't keep their eyes open HAHA!

You guys are welcome to visit my fb fan page. Just please no technical C&C there since I use it for my business. You are more than welcome to send me messages through FB for any comments :)

For sale.... all the kit you see below as if someone is doing that after 3 months, what will happen in 3 years!!!! Laughing.gif. Seriously though, great start. My advice is get used to one lens/piece of kit at a time, it will make you must stronger and aware of what you can do with it. If you keep switching you will likely miss out on a lot of creativity that you can get. Other thing is post processing, work on that to keep things in a shoot consistent, it will help a lot.

Looking forward to seeing more of your posts here.

I'm here to learn so please feel free to give me constructive criticism to help me become the photographer I desire to be.
