Ok a year ago I registered a domain with Wordpress. I would like that name to point to my Smugmug page but I dunno how to do it. They are asking me to change the name servers but I don't know to what. can anyone help me out?..I don't want to announce my Smugmug page to anyone before I have this resolved.

Thanks for the reply! I had already tried that page before. I registered my domain name with Wordpress and when I go to them they don't reply or show the name of the company they use for registering domains. I think I'm just gonna have to lose the domain name I already have & paid for and set up a totally new one.

I got a reply: "Usually when you point a domain name to SmugMug, there's no content already existing for the name." So it seems that I cannot point my domain name to my Smugmug page because it is already pointed at my blog...I guess I have to think of another name form my page and purchase a domain name again. Thanks for trying!

You don't have to purchase a second domain. You can use sub-domains which should be included with your current domain. Subdomains are additional names in front of your domain like blog.xxxxxxx.com.

For example, your photos can be at www.xxxxxx.com and your blog could be at blog.xxxxxxx.com or photos at photos.xxxxxxx.com and your blog at some www.xxxxxxx.com.

I thought so, but, what I can't find is a way to make these changes. I can change my blog so that the subdomain points to it; then I can point my www.shoottheworld.net main domain name to my SmugMug page; but that is what I can't seem to get to work. I tried the set up page but that didn't work. Wordpress is not helping at all so I'm gonna try and contact them again to see what I need to do.

I finally heard from Wordpress and they advised me how to do the CNAME trick, so my site is up and running. Thanks for all the help offered on here!!!
