So dull and lifeless. Wait… :D

I'm no sports photographer, but this is the level I would expect to see in SI. Amazing.

    Edit: especially #s 7, 8 and 11. Outstanding.

Thanks brother, I'm glad you like them. I'll get there someday.

Thanks Mitchell. I am moving into portraits for a few reasons. I want to shoot more for one. Shooting sports doesn't really allow me to get my fix of photography. Another reason is because I wanted to become a better photographer. I definately have already gotten better since I started with portraits. Lastly, there is absolutely no money in sports photography. I figured that since I have all this great equipment, I could put it to use and actually let it pay for itself. It will sure make talking the wife into more equipment alot easier if I just received a few hefty checks.

Thanks for the post Redfish. He was about to run into me in that picture and he probably didn't want a big lens hitting him in the face!! I stayed just long enough to snap the pic, then I took a few steps back with the quickness!!!

You can so take these kinds of pics someday. You just have to read and practice over and over and get some pretty good gear. I've actually only been shooting for 3 years.

Did you use the teleconverter for these shots? I assume if you did, the corrected focal length would be in the exif?

No I didn't use my TC for these. I used my D300 which has a crop sensor, so it's the same as using a TC on a full frame without loosing the stops. I then carried my D700 (Full Frame) with a 35-70 lens to get close ups.
