Was at Burgess Falls on Sunday for a little hiking with the better half. Not much time for grabbing many shots but did manage to acquire 2 decent shots of the lower falls.

water is low due to the lack of rain. Too put it in perspective, here is one from winter a couple years back.

Hoping to get back in the dead of winter for a frozen falls shot. :)

I really like the sense of place that you get with #2 here. :D If anything, I'd say you could probably pop the saturation in the trees up a bit more and darken the bright spot on the cliff in the upper left a little. Beautiful image! thumb.gif

DRT, yest the leaves are still changing. However, high winds blew threw this part of the state all day today and I believe took alot of the foliage with it.

Duncan, thank you for the feedback

angevin, yes they are big! The leaves appeared to be near peak last weekend.

Very cool waterfall. Any chance that sunrise or sunset happens at an interesting angle to it? I like the perspective in the first shot and it would be really cool with early or late day sky…

Thank you for sharing that waterfall!

Thwack, you know I don't know. This is at a state natural area that opens at 8am and closes at sunset so the only opportunity would be for sunset (or to park outside the gate and walk in of which I would be violating the rule of the park). Just thinking off the top of my head, I believe this river flows in a westerly directions so I am sure with some deadication and multiple visits, one could get some interesting light in the sky. May have to try this again at a later time in the day.

    Thank you for the feedback.
