Log In Issues - But Different To The FB Problem

  1. Since the new Log In page I now have to enter my email address despite the "Keep me logged in" box being checked. Firefox (3.6.11) asks for the master password but the boxes are not populated.
  2. When I get to my home page what I see is the visitor view with no options at the top. A refresh is needed to reveal them. I've tried clearing the cache and my browser is set to accept cookies.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Are you using a password manager?

The one built into FF. I've used it for years and never noticed a problem before.

I don't understand the link you sent. My site is wyndhamhollis.com - when I go to the log in screen for the first time in a FF session it makes me use the FF password manager to sign in even though I keep the "Keep Me Logged In" box checked.

Once I've supplied the Master Password, it still wants my email address

I do my log in and then my Home Page comes up like this:

until I refresh it and the buttons appear......

It might be a Firefox problem but only seemed to start about the time you updated the log in page.

BTW I never use Facebook - wild horses wouldn't drag me there...

Firefox should ask you to remember the password first time it is entered.
Check if you have that option checked under options.
Tools > Options > Security tab
To use the remembered PW, FF's master PW, if set, has to be entered first.

On trying the Screencast link again I see maybe it's meant to have content in the middle but it took ages to load (well about three minutes) and then was just an ad for Smugmug!

We're at cross purposes here. FF's PW manager behaves normally (although usually when I enter the master password in response to a prompt the login details appear immediately in the form that requested them) but I am expecting an option that says "Keep Me Logged In" to do just that. SM's only seems to work during a single FF session unlike, say Yahoo which keeps me signed in for weeks at a time if I check the box that says "Keep Me Signed In For 2 Weeks".

Please also see the issue about the disappearing buttons.

Might be caused by removing Smugmug cookies with each FF shut down. My
log in boxes are always empty but fill when clicking in box.

I thought of that but FF is set to keep cookies until they expire. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
