Hey all,
Just recently returned from Debrecen, Hungary where I crewed for a mate in the 19th Hotair Balloon World Champs.
Unfortunately lost some 400-500 photos along with all my camera gear and my MacBook when some thieving bastard broke into our rented villa and nicked it all WHILE we were asleep! Literally stole my backpack from beside the bed whilst I was asleep :cry
But anyway... here's some of the photos that I had (for some reason) saved on to a USB stick
Still editing so there are more coming....
Please take a look in the gallery and feel free to "like", "thumbs up" or add any comments :thumb

It was pretty spectacular seeing 118 balloons taking off at sunrise

nice job!!

I see what you mean - some of those I could trim a mm or too off the edge...
I tried where possible when shooting them to keep that in mind, however when on the ground with 118 hotair balloons going up it's nigh on impossible!! Does look very impressive though!

Agree that a cropping the edge cut offs would help.
You've done a wonderful job of getting different looks while shooting the same subject - back, front and side lighting; wide through tele; high angle down to low angle. Outstanding
thanks for the positive comment too - it's really hard in a week to think of more imaginative angles with the same subject and you're right i was trying out different ideas/shots to see if i could get something more interesting

Sorry about your gear. Mine was stolen a few years ago. I can sympathize!

You may want to consider an on line backup system like Carbonite. It has saved me a couple of times.:D
We were 250km South East of Budapest in Hungary with no high speed internet - so an online backup wasn't going to help me out - i just hadn't copied that day's photos onto my USB stick or an external HD as we were so knackered after the week's flying... c'est la vie! that's the way it goes sometimes...
