introducing Ethan James
Well after a roller coaster of a pregnancy with preterm labor and 12 weeks of bedrest we actually had to force the little man out last week!

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
Congrats, Melissa! I'm amazed you found time for a photo shoot since I'd have thought you were just a tad busy doing other things just now
He's BEAUTIFUL. How's big sis taking to the idea he's here to stay?
Jeff, I'll see what I can do...
Diva, 6 & 7 were before baby came. And this was my first picture attempt with him and it didn't last too long. He doesn't give me much time to do anything really. I have got to figure out how the newborn photographers get babies in some of those poses! We will just have to work on it. Ashleigh loves being a big sister, and is such a big helper. But she is in a little bit of shock over not being the center of attention anymore
Love that football knitted cap....adorable and good of you to include lil sis too.....
Congrats

This past summer we had a boy, and our daughter is 3.5, so it seems somewhat similar to your two. It's been a handful with both of them, as I'm sure you'll learn, but I'm sure your daughter will make the adjustment just fine. Plus, the birthdate is oh so close to a really awesome day (mine is the 21st ;-). Big congrats and very cute photos!!!

The trick is to have them in a warm atmosphere, 85+ degrees room temp (a small space heater works great). To get them to fall asleep have them on their stomach and do the following. First rub your hands together to warm them up, then place one hand on the crown of their head, and the other on their bottom. Within 1-3 minutes they'll be knocked out for a while.
That said, I have never shot a new born. But I learned this technique from New Born photographers on the Photovision 2009/2010 videos.
Love the pictures, congratulations!
I hope I can finally rejoin you all here. I should be shooting a lot more now that I have a new subject
Thanks for the tip Jeremy! **off to find my spaceheater...**
