Last night's Virginia High School League Northern Regional Tournament game was shot under lights that were apparently only about half as bright as the last night game I shot. The spread was uneven and the color was funky too. The artificial turf was very shiney. At ISO 3200 & f2.8 my s/s varied between 1/100 and 1/200. So . . . most everything ended up pretty soft. The home team wore white jerseys and socks with a "Breast Cancer Awareness" pink-ribbon theme.

Only if you follow field hockey might you understand how dangerous this player is on a penalty corner situation. Well, I guess if you don't follow FH, you might not know what a penalty corner is anyway:

I like this shot for the nice view of the Breast Cancer Awareness logo that the designer had cleverly constructed using hockey sticks:

Perhaps this gives you some sense of the euphoria that erupts when you overcome an 18-0 team in overtime in the Regional Tournament. 1/100 sec. Soft does not begin to describe it :dunno.

Nice shots regardless. Love the emotion of youth sports.

Isn't that the truth. I'd much rather watch high school sports than pro.
