Nice, crisp image. If you aren't really looking carefully, it gives the illusion that the scene is in front of you, not behind you. You could strengthen that illusion a bit by cropping the top down so that you don't see the wall next to the window at the upper left.
wow! well seen.
What made you do this?
Is that your car and you happened to spot them, or did you stand by that mirror and hope to catch something or did you walk by and knew you had to shoot them? Just curious.
I agree with the rest--very crisp image and it is a sweet shot.
I like that you can see all the way down the street at the family approaching. Quite a bit to look at but my eyes always return to the couple.
Way cool! First off, it makes me feel vaguely creepy, like I'm "peeping" without the courage to look directly. Second, how the hell did you DO THAT? Why isn't the camera in the mirror?

Great shot!
I too wonder the same.... The mirror would appear to have to be backwards for that shot. I see the vehicle behind it with it's front wheels turned to the curb. I see the seatbelt and door handle of the van which I think the mirror is attached to, but it's pointing the wrong direction. I think the image is in FRONT of the vehicle. And the top right of the frame doesn't look like what I assumed would be street.
Parked on the wrong side of the street (left wheel to curb might do it) or a reversed image? The street name looks backwards?
The mirror is not backwards...look at the BG around the mirror, not in the mirror and it becomes evident that the mirror is mounted in the usual manner on the door, and that the shot is happening behind the van. See the photographers shirt sleeve in the image.
The reason that the camera isn't in the mirror is because of the angel of incidence...so, it's a pretty neat shot...and gives the impression of other than it is. The camera would never be in the picture unless it was partially or fully reflected...meaning that the mirror was directed toward the camera.
Hope this helps...

This was taken with a 24mm lens on my P&S (LX3) while sitting in my car waiting. I was bored enough to remember to pull out my camera and look for a mirror shot, which I have been contemplating doing while in motion (I want a police car in the mirror, but don't have the guts to take it -- have to wait until I'm a passenger ).
So the couple walked to their spot on cue. Only could have been better if he was sipping his frap while hugging her.... I am in the driver seat parked on the LEFT side on a one way street and that is my sleeve as I shoot from near the steering wheel.

OK! That explains all my confusion. One Way Street. Thanks. Thought I was nuts. Well, maybe I am anyway.
