Smart galleries not so smart after all...

The "recent" smart gallery I setup to include photos from specified range of upload dates does not have all the pictures populated.
The rule I have for this gallery is to include everything uploaded from 6/1/10-12/31/10. 3 new photos were uploaded yesterday, only 1 showed up in recent smart gallery. Out of the 2 that were not populated, 1 was a complete new upload, the other one was a previous deletion that re-uploaded after editing.
Re-save the rule returned with the same set of photos minus the 2 new uploads. I even tried to delete the whole smart gallery and start from the scratch with exact same result. Seems no matter what I do, smart rule just stubbornly refuse to include the 2 new photos.
Anyone else having same issue with smart gallery?
