Bizarro Lightroom Plugin / Facebook problem

Finally upgraded to Lightroom 3 and simultaneously tried the Lightroom upload plugin. Everything went smoothly -- new gallery created, 93 photos uploaded, no problems.

I then went to Facebook to share the new gallery and instead of getting the gallery name displayed I got the ugly URL instead -- plus I got no thumbnail choices and the gallery description didn't display. Went in, created a new gallery the old fashioned way with the same name (one letter changed to differentiate galleries), uploaded a couple of the photos to the new gallery via direct upload (not through LR), went to Facebook and -- voila -- when I went to share it I got the gallery title, gallery description and complete selection of thumbnails to choose from. Copied the rest of the photos from the gallery they were uploaded to via LR to the new gallery and all is well.

On the surface it appears that photos imported via the LR plugin won't properly share, but if they are moved via traditional means within SmugMug they will act normally. Of course, moving them within SmugMug destroys the links in Lightroom for automatically updating LR galleries.

I know that all sounds a bit confusing.... Anyone else encounter this problem?

Worth checking the gallery settings for external linking, hide owner and public.

After I moved the files to the new gallery I deleted the gallery that wasn't working. I just now went through all the steps I did to recreate the "bad" gallery and -- figures -- everything works perfectly. It might have been a one-off problem. I'll be uploading a large number of photos to the site tomorrow and I'll use the plugin. If it doesn't work, I won't touch it! If it does work, I'll write my initial problem off as just a random incident. Given Facebook's often cantankerous nature, it could have been a FB problem.

Potentially a false alarm. Will keep y'all posted.

Last night I added a new gallery to the website going through the Lightroom plugin. When I try to share it on Facebook, it only gives me the first five photos uploaded as possible thumbnails (I've been able to select from every photo for a thumbnail on galleries I upload through the standard uploader). It just seems more than a coincidence that the two galleries that have given me problems in Facebook are the two galleries that I uploaded through the Lightroom plugin. At least this one gives me the proper gallery title and description.

Try sharing it and see if you can select from more than five thumbnails.
