Basic info on "Link to Facebook" pls

I haven't logged into smugmug for a while, now I see the Link to Facebook thing....do I check it? What does "link to facebook" exactly do? Is it an app? Do my photos magically go from smugmug to FB?

Sorry, I couldnt find an announcement in my "news" or a thread that says "Linking to Facebook".

Hope someone can point me in the right direction here.
