went ot IE (YUCK)...went to the exact same sites and had sound...also in Opera, safari and chrome........

Any of you FF gurus have any ideas????

forgot to mention.......If I uninstall the Adobe Flash plugin and reinstall I can listen to 1 video or song sample (song samples come from Amazon and vids usually Youtube).......

This is just freakin weird

    Art,

I ain't no wizard when comes to this stuff, but in the FF preferences area there is a section where you can specify what applications to use for various tasks.

If for some reason your telling FF to use an application that is not there or is corrupt that could cause the issue.

    Art,

I am on a Mac and for audio files mine shows "use quick time plug in"

If it says always ask I would think it ain't pointing to any application, hence no sound. Can you put in an audio player / app in the action column?

    i had the same recently
    after i updated my nvidia-driver

the new nvidia-driver also has an audio-driver in it [ weird but true ]

best you can do is re-install your previous [or original] audio-driver

I have no clue as to what actually has made things work but I have audio again.........I have unstalled the flash player several times and reinstalled it....I installed something called adobe flash square for 64 bit OS....it hads an activex that piggy backed with it...and finally because everything on you tube kept saying I needed to upgrade y flash player I did...as of 15 minutes ago it was all working.............knock on wood....this is what happens when you really do not know what your doing and you blindly start uninstallling and reinstalling and finally it majically just starts working.........

I did not update any drivers since I got this laptop....but I was about to clone my c drive when the audio went kapoot..........

Now to take the evening and sit back and meditate, close eyes look inward and get some peace............

Tomorrow....clone drive........dive back into trying to edumacated over at Kelby Training........
