Hi there all,
So I finally got my first quality lens on Friday and I've been practicing.
I know it's mainly a portrait lens though I'm using it for everything.

C&C welcomed.

Here are my first two portraits that I'm happy with.
I'm not used to a 50 prime so it's taken a bit to work to get used to it.

The lens is a Zuiko 50mm macro f2.0 shot with my Olympus E620.
Things to work on--I just think the sharpness is outrageous--but I need to stop it down a bit so I can get both eyes tack sharp--the second shot needed that.

and two just for fun--with two people in the shot

4. I even managed to get a group shot in near dark conditions!
Sure I had to use crazy PP work so that I was happy with it--but I couldn't have done this before AND I was able to fit 5 kids in the shot!
I love this lens.

Isn't it though. I know it's not the equipment but the photographer--but damn! this helps:)

The little one is my little girl--so as a mom I was so happy about how it turned out.

1&2 rock, 2 especially, just a great expression well captured (nailed the focus).

Thanks--I'm continuing to try and do candid type portraits--my daughter was sitting down just sucking on her pop when I asked her to look up and click--it worked! Same for #2--I was closing the gates to our front yard and the light was so nice--made him look at me and click---love it when it works out.

When I first got my 50mm prime, I was amazed also. They are essential little nuggets for any photographer to have. Good work so far.
