Well, feeling a little intimidated by this round, but that's a good thing, always good to feel challenged. Here is my first attempt. Looking for advise from you "seasoned" landscape photogs. Any and all comments are welcome!

I like #2 best. I think you have captured (cropped) the perfect amount of the sun, however the overall crop of #2 can be improved. I wish I could see more of the road on the right side which would make it more of a rectangular crop than squarish (assuming you have captured more of the road in your original image). It seems like adding a bit of a contrast should help the image, a selective contrast that is so that the road doesn't get any darker than it already is. As a matter of fact, I would brighten up the dark parts of the road a little bit because I think it will make the image more interesting.

Thanks for your input Allen, I tried to work on it with your suggestions...how does this look?

Great light! I like #2 as you've reworked it.

Much better! Do you have more of the road to show? I assume you intended the picture to look greenish/bluish? I still think the middle area of the picture could use a little more contrast.

One more try, here is even more road, although that's all I got now! I can clone out the car, not sure if it adds or detracts from the image. Tried tonig down the blue/green also. Comments?

Been watching this thread as it's developing. For my taste, each iteration has been stronger than the last... and FWIW, I like the car and the tone adjustment.thumb.gif

Just to add to this a little again. It looks like in your last version, the road went dark again. Just my opinion, it would be nice to see the road and the car more clearly. I would brighten just those 2 elements.

I have tried a few times to lighten it up more, but I kinda like it the way it is, at least on my screen, it works because the road is being shadowed by the trees. I don't know, I see where you are coming from though.

That is what counts the most! Leave it the way you like it.
