I have a couple of nits on framing:
#1 has a bit too much of a negative space on top for my taste;
#2 could have benefited if you had panned about 15% to the camera's right, thus removing that bright blob on the LHP edge at subject's eye level, as well as avoiding a dead center composition;
Both issues are perfectly croppable, though...
Hi Richard!! I'm liking the 1x1 of the first one best. The second one just feels more like he's looking away in avoidance, plus the light is much harsher. The first one has really great light, and a bit of emotion to his face... something like he's a bit worried about something...
