Last thursday Activision put on a release party for their new game Call Of Duty Black Ops and for the Call Of Duty Endowment, a charity focused on finding jobs for returning soldiers.
Along with various speakers (Activision and Blizzard execs, Zach Braff, Governor Davis, Kobe Bryant, etc.), special guests Metallica took the stage to polish off the event at Hanger 8 at the Santa Monica Airport in southern California.
It was invitation only, and I was told cameras were prohibited, so sadly all I had was my cellphone (iphone4). It seemed that most everyone there had at least DSC cameras if not SLRs, so I wish I'd planned better, but alas.
Here are a few captures:
Activision presented the first $1 million of presales for the new game to the endowment, as long as spent what must have been a small fortune on the party. Many thanks to all involved in this great cause.
