Slow upload speeds from lightroom

Hi,

Has anybody else noticed very slow upload speeds from lightroom? I can get 120kbps from the online uploader, LR is uploading around 10kbps. Frustrating! Using Jeffrey Friedl's smugmug plugin; will try with the official one to see if any different.

    Weird thing: double checked and the high speeds occur when I am uploading larger files. I've now tried the online, send to smugmug, and LR both Friedl and Smugmug publish plugins, and each of them leads to a top speed of between 10000-20000 bites per second according to resource monitor, when I upload low res files that are about 350k. With larger files, speed was much higher. Any way to get around this? I'm putting new watermarks on 8500 images....
