I'm still trying to get a good shot of the female Snail Kite at the Viera Wetlands. This shot is not what I'm looking for, but it's not bad........

Looks like the female Snail Kite may have left the Viera Wetlands looking for a new source of Apple Snails. I was out there Monday and today, but I could not find her.......

    A photo from the weekend...

Good captures Ira. The kite was out there on Monday but she was expanding the areas she was hunting in. The limpkins are coming up with apple snails but they hunt at the edges of the cells while the kite hunts in the center portion of the cells.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Second image is great, so nice to these in the wild - don't get too many in the centre of London I'm afraid to say.

    Thanks, David.
As pointed out by Harry, it has been estimated that in the whole state of Florida, only 700 Snail Kites remain. That is why the locals were thrilled at seeing this female at the Viera Wetlands.

A few more shots taken Saturday......
