Lighting novice here! Two speedlites, one in front - one behind.
Would really appreciate any comments both positive and negative.

THANKS

The light in the back really isn't doing any thing it would have been better used as a hair light or a bg light

I really like your setup with the hot pink ottoman/beanbag and black b/g; and you have two pretty little models. +1 on what blaser said on the rear light. I'm finding, too, that aiming that rear speedlite it very tricky w/o any decent modeling light. 4&5 make best use of it and get a bit of rim lighting from the back strobe.

What lens/setting did you use? I ask because as her foot and knee come forward, they become very large, which makes me think you are using a wider angle lens here. That's something to watch out for. A real eye-opener to me was learning that my 70-200 zoom was a perfect portrait lens.

Hi Andrew, you're correct in assuming the wide angle lens. This was mainly due to lack of studio space and was obviously not ideal. However, since you mentioned it I've switched things around a little and thrown out some junk. Subsequently I now have room to shoot (also) using a 70-200. Can't wait to get started!
