Thanks guys. I hadn't noticed the similarity of the women till you pointed it out, Virginia--I guess I was too busy looking at the pigeon, which I also hadn't noticed till I saw the pic on my computer. .
Richard, I like the top one a lot: every one and bird doing what they do, a sort of contentment in community, apart yet together. A strong triangle: individual, group (but in their own minds and space), and the pigeon coexisting and comfortable in its environment. A quite study of community.
The second shot does not grab me, yet I do get the cartoon connection. It is not as successful as the cartoon. Compositionally it is a weaker image. To my eye, I would crop down to just above the Bears (?) ear; otherwise my eye shoots out of the picture above and is not held along the linear line of the eyes. This shot is about juxtaposition. The elements are all there but the composition is unsuccessful. I would be curious to see if you worked this shot (alternative shots) or was it a grab shot (one opportunity)?

Thanks for the comment, Jamie. I agree that #2 is not as successful as the cartoon--Addams is a hard act to follow . There was no time to work the scene. They were posing for somebody else when I noticed them and I only got the one shot.

Love them both.
Composition in the first is great - love the pigeon.
The scowling guy makes the second.
