    Do you have any 'turbo' service from your broadband provider and/or browser toolbar? You may want to disable those.

    Sure sounds like you are using some sort of an accelerator, or your ISP is forcing reduced quality images to reduce bandwidth. Most dial up providers like AOL, NetZero, Earthlink, etc do this. I've not really seen it with any high speed providers.

    Have you tried a different browser besides Firefox? Give Google Chrome a try as well.
