She was married nearly a year ago to the day that we did these. The dress originally wasn't ready in time, so 12mos later we managed to finally tackle a bridal session for her. Being from and having easy access to The Holy City Charleston, SC -which gets its nickname from the plethora of church steeples that pepper the city's skyline- makes for spectacular venues. There are limitless possibilities amongst the hundreds of alleys and wrought-iron lined sidewalks. Images 3-9 are either in front of or inside of the newly renovated Dockstreet Theater. I actually got fussed at for placing the antique "courting couch" in front of the structure. :D Anything for the art! (C&C always welcome)

It would be hard to express just how much I love 1 and 8 of this set.... They're all gorgeous, but those are just jawdroppers.

Can I ask about the processing on 8/9? I'm completely in love with it! Is it a bokeh texture, or....?

Thanks so much, DM! The shots are a combo of textures and some bokeh brushes gathered up over at Deviant Art and various other suppliers. I could literally waste away staring at stuff from there and 1x.com. :D My textures and brushes folders have chewed some serious real estate into my hard drives. :D

    Very nice, I love 8&9
While I like the others too, a little more detail in the dress would have been nice (perhaps its just my monitor at work)

The 1.4 is KerrrrRayzee sharp! Too sharp in most instances. I forget what I had the aperture set at but I feel fairly confident in saying it wasn't stopped down completely.

Would it be too much for me to ask you to either guess or find out what you had it at? I love this lens but haven't found that perfect sweet spot yet. I'm leaning toward around 2.8 at the moment, but was just curious to see what you thought.

    Thanks!

Closest I could guesstimate would be 2-2.8. I get great bokeh/sharpness/exposure ratios @ 2.2 with low to moderate ISOs. Anything below 2.2 starts to dramatically affect DOF and as I stated before, it's almost always TOO much....bordering on a sharp, dedicated macro!
