APIKey or not?

Hi, just a quick question about leaving the APIkey in the source code or not.
I made a simple smugmug gallery wordpress plugin for myself, but recently I've received a few requests for making it publicly available so I thought I would put the code up on my site. My question is, what do I do with APIKey ... do I leave it in the PHP code (where anyone can copy it and use it for anything) or should I require that anyone who wants to use the plugin also has to get an APIKey? (I guess that the first alternative is the right way to go but I want to check)
