Stay tuned for updates. I do not know the nature of this issue, but I can promise you we do know commerce happens on the weekends and we regret this - we'll get it going as fast as possible.
Danny, we're in Read Only mode so that photos display but you can't login as admin during read only. Stay tuned and follow the links I gave in post #2 above thank you.

I know but I'm just letting you know that the message is old......it's from the planned maintenance window on Thursday evening and this is Saturday morning.

Thanks, we shouldn't be using that message, I've reported it to our Ops.
I know you guys are working on it but I gotta voice my frustration since I sent out an event link to 100 people a couple of hours ago after the first outage this morning. I can't help but wonder what impact this has on sales since some people may never make that second attempt when the first attempt to purchase fails.
I'm currently getting all kinds of wacky stuff when I try to log on. Hard to explain as I'm not a programmer, but its like all the site html is messed up- smugmug website images not showing up, etc. When I log on and go to my site, I don't have any of the normal menus to access control panel.

Can we have an update please?
The Status page is still showing 10.33am on November 13th as the latest news when there are clearly still problems. I'm still getting occasional 503 errors, still getting errors in uploading and temporary empty galleries.
Please can we have a new estimate as to when the problems will be resolved. I have a new Gallery I am struggling to finish between getting errors all weekend and I need it to go public tomorrow.
I just get the 503 error when I go to my site, is there no alternate page stating that smugmug is having problems or is that just the nature of a 503 error?
In the past I remember nice smug screens that stated there was a problem being worked on with a cute little smug character.
Can't show that message in this case, but we'll get it up and showing as soon as we can get into Read Only mode.
Galleries suddenly empty - help please?
Hmm. I am kind of mystified as to what just happened here. I am in the process of "revamping" two of my Galleries. I was adding, deleting as well as moving photos between the two of them. I also renamed one of them (NYC Streets --> NYC Street Life). All was well a few minutes ago, but suddenly clicking on either gallery only gets me the following message: "This Gallery has no photos to display yet. Let's hope it gets good ones soon".
Gaaah. What happened to the "good ones" I already uploaded??? Here are the gallery links:
72 images (or so) that were uploaded from the smugmug publish service (the official one) in LR3. And the publish button is grayed out-- so it assumes that the images have already been uploaded.

Andy, aren't you getting tired of having to make these apologies? I know I am tired of hearing them.
Why is it that things don't seem to be getting any more relaible?
Actually things are getting more reliable. But when something happens over the course of a few days, multiple times, it makes it seem far worse. We're dealing with this hardware issue, and we'll be better and stronger afterwards.
Yes, of course I don't like it any more than you do - in fact I have a shoot I'm trying to post right now (I'm a working pro still, after all!).

In Smugmugs defense - I have always found them to be VERY reliable and have a VERY fast response time to any technical issues as well as user concerns. I trust them with my pics and I trust that they are doing their best! Sh*t happens...

I'll second this post. I have to upload maybe a hundred or so football non-league pictures. My 'fans' will just have to wait until Smugmug fixes said problem.

If you compare 2009 to 2010 on the amount of Read Only time things have not improved at all.
I'll pull the stats for down time and response time too.
I have been in IT support in some form or another for over 30 years. We cover everything from the mom and pop shops to Wall Street and everything in between.
SmugMug's up time history shows you how well they have done over time. Every data system no matter how well designed even with redundant back up systems can have unique unexpected hardware or software problems that impact the end users.
I am sure all the right technical folks are all over the current problem and will have it resolved as quickly as possible.
Remember, patience is a virtue.
Edit: See as I was typing this post the site came back online.
