Strange colour dots on my photo?

Hello dear friends and smugmug lovers.
I've got a photo which in the left part has strange dots, that I don't see in system preview and on the PS/Br render.

First photo of this gallery:

http://test.mojpejzaz.pl/Prawdziwamilosc1/hel-jastarnia-chalupy/fotograf-gdynia-hel/14001666_ahu9k

I tried to convert into sRGB space, also to embed profile to this photo. Also I tried to cheat with sharpening settings. Nothing.

I still see awful strange dots in the left dark part of the photo.
Also I've noticed, that some other photos with delicate tonal gradients are damaged by Smugmug.

Is there any chance to correct this?

I had to make your viewing style "Viewer Controlled" so we could see the image in question

now, can you please point out these dots to us in a screen grab? Thank you.

Just to let you know, I don't see dots in that black area at all in any of the three browsers I have here (Safari, IE8, Firefox). One thing you can do immediately is to isolate whether this is a browser thing or not. If you have the image that you uploaded to Smugmug on your own hard disk, I'd suggest you take that image and open it directly from the file system (File/Open) in the same browser you're using on Smugmug. This will tell you if this may just be a browser display issue, not something Smugmug is actually doing to the image.

Also, what browser are you using? Is the image appropriately tagged as an sRGB image before upload?

jfriend, many thanks for your work for me to solve this strange issue. I opened a) original file that I've uploaded to Smugmug, b) smugmug rendered file from fulscreen slideshow screenshot.
I opened it with File->Open With and pointed to Firefox. a) original file was displayed well, b) smugmug rendered screenshot had dots.
I measured screenshot witdh PS eyedropper. Original area is RGB 11,11,11, while screenshot is 11,11,11 only at left top of image, on marked area is rgb 10,10,10 and the dots are 9,9,9.
I've pointed sRGB while I saved this (Save for web&devices) and the original displays well while the smugmug rendered has color shift on the bottom. (and especially on the area I've marked on screenshot).

Can you enable originals in that gallery so I can download the original and look at it in Photoshop?

Thank you friends for help, but it seems there is something with my gamma setting. I'll play with it, recalibrate my lcd and try all settings related to ICM, than let you know about results. :)
