Thanks, Brian! That means a lot to me, coming from you. It was a spur of the moment thing...I just happened to have my macro lens on my camera when I was walking out to my car, dismayed to see the hoar frost everywhere. But, hey, why not find the silver lining!

Oh, I agree about the shoot possibilities in frost...but that wasn't what was crossing my mind. My boys and I were running out of the house, late as usual, needing to get on the road to get them to school and me to work, when what did I see? Black ice and frost.

But, you'll note that my dedication to my craft is such that I did still take the time to pull out my camera and at least get a couple of quick frames off. AND I got the boys to school on time. (Me? I was a little late to work.)

This was a handheld, catch-as-catch-can shot...I do wish I had had the time to set up greater magnification. (I'm not sure I own the equipment to do so, though...I don't know much about honest-to-goodness, high magnification macro photography...)
