2 Photo Book questions

Well, wasn't sure where to put this, so here it goes:

1. What sites do you all find produce the best quality books? I am not a pro, so I'm not going to try and get to one of those sites. I've heard good things about Blurb. I did 2 Apple/Mac books for people but really didn't like the photo quality that much. We are going to start doing one as a "year in review" album for our family. I didn't think Shutterfly or York's books would be that good. Anyone have a strong POV on where I should consider?

2. Anyone ever "publish" on Blurb or another site and try selling books of photos they've taking at different events? I was curious what kinds of permissions I should consider. For example, I have shot a lot of BBoy dance battles, and am considering putting together a BBOy book to sell. Do I need to track down every one of them to get permission? Just curious.

Thanks.

My personal opinion, and I am not a pro either, I would be looking at SmugMug for getting the books printing. You can find info here http://www.smugmug.com/prints/catalog/P#More The fact that SmugMug has picked them to me is a recommendation from people who know more than me in my opinion. I do know that the SmugMug team looks at the quality of the products/labs/service partner with. I do not know if books are covered by their print guarantee http://www.smugmug.com/help/print-guarantee but I do know that if you send the help desk questions, the Support Heroes will help you get the best results possible.

Thanks. I did use the search, but the 2-word search returned all kinds of noise... I'm on it...

    Blurb is good
FWIW, I've had great luck using Blurb for family photo albums and things like that. Been really pleased with the quality, and the prices seem pretty reasonable to me.

I had made some books with Apple's service but I prefer Blurb, the quality seems higher, and you can get rid of the logo if you want to pay extra. Also, not sure if Apple offers this these days but you can pick your paper with Blurb, they have a range of choices.

Finally, Blurb occasionally has coupons, something I never could seem to find with Apple's service.
