Frosted Flowers

I'm new here and thought I would introduce myself by sharing these shots I took the other day of my wife's flower garden. The whole garden was just glowing from a layer of frost that had developed over night and I couldn't help but go shoot it. I hope you enjoy. I’m fascinated with the macro shots I’ve seen here and I’m excited to go do more. Anyway I don’t own a macro lens but I’m in the market for one, any suggestions as I’m not sure what I need or what would be best to start with. My camera in a Nikon D700.

good shots, like #1 best

take a look at sigma 105mm and tamron 90mm macro lens both excellent quality and probably alot cheaper than nikons vr macro

Thanks everyone for the comments. I shot them with a Sigma 28-80 f2.8 lens. It is not a macro so I had to crop to get this composition which is irritating to me because I didn’t spend the money on a D700 so I can crop out 2/3 of the resolution. But the good news is I bought a 60mm macro from KEH and it should be here soon. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money until I get an Idea of what I want to work with. So I’ll give this lens a try for a while.
