Drove 90 minutes out to cover the local team (Morton Governors from Hammond, IN) and again, was not suprised they again beat their competitors by 30+ point as they have done the last 3 games I've been following them.

Lights were nice, unlike their home field. I was able to shoot 1/500 @ 2.8 or 3.2 at ISO 5000. Their home field where they play (this weeks Semi-State game) is ISO 6400, 1/250 MAX @ 2.8. Sucks. Problem at this location is the lights were cycling and the sensor picked it up. Some shots are brown, some green, others brown and green.. pain in the a$$, but not much I could do about it.

Almost intercepted. Gov's nearly got the ball if they could had wrestled it away from the Minutemen (in green)

Nice catch in a sea of green defense

For a "Slow" camera.. The 5DII was holding it's own.. Timing is everything. :)

Have NN. Care less about the noise.. was more the color cycling that got me. Noise is nothing compared to the local news shooters with their Nikon (older) gear.. Mine has no noise compared to theirs.. well, the last image is noisy.. that's from a 5D, not the 5DII and it's at 3200 which I hate shooting the 5D at.. usually I stick to 1600 max on it and the 20D

hmm..that's still a surprising amount of noise from the other shots that are assumabley from 5Dmk2? It's distracting to me.

Mix of 5DII @ 5000/6400 and the Noisier pictures are original 5D, which I never put to 3200.. but did this time. Usually 1600 is my sweet spot max for the 5D, 3200 for the MkII.

Add to that, these weren't processed with NoiseNinja and were sharpened, which is going to make the noise much more visible than normal.

I really like #3 and the last one. For that kind of lighting and a 5DII, you did a great job imo.
