Hi all,
I've just acquired a Sony F828 (as well as some lights and tents) and now I've got the bug. I'm a total newbie to photography so I'd like to get advice from the experienced photographers on how I should best proceed.
I've already signed up for basic photography classes by the local photographers federation next month. And I've bought some books from Amazon to help me understand techniques: I've also got a very strong background in Photoshop CS but I figure getting these books will be a good investment:
QUESTION 2: What should I be looking into buying next (in order of priority please)? I'm pretty sure a spare battery will be number 1. Followed by storage. But then what?
Feel free to tell me anything else that might be helpful. I'd like to stay away from any reviews of the F828 though simply because this was a gift and I'm really just happy to have something of this level. Besides, I don't think many beginners get this kind of camera to start with so I'm considering myself very lucky.
Thanks!
Anna

From your list, you've got a bit of stuff and some reading material.
Besides a battery, my advice to you would be to go ahead and hold off on
anything more than what you've got.
Give yourself some time to become familiar with the tools at your disposal,
your photography class and practice, practice, practice. Of course, we'll
help you with the shots you post too (Oh, and if I might recommend
one thing that's a real winner and that's a smugmug account. It will help
you share your photos.).
Once you've had some time with your new toy, you'll have a better idea of
what you need. You'll know when the right time is
Again, welcome and glad to have you here.
