Thank you Jackie & Richard - i missed the focus a bit, as i didn't want to miss the shot. the moms really like this one, have to see about sharpening it a tad and print it out for them.
Hey Randy - many thanks.. now that you said that, i can completely see the parallel..
yea, the focus was on her at the last second.. as i was shooting wide open on spot with my new to me lens (picked up the 80-200 2.8, twin screw this time ) and didn't have time to change settings or i would have missed it altogether.
oh - and i think he has plenty of time to play the field.. he's a good looking little guy in his own right

What a classic image, well seen and captured.
I think the little off focus/softness adds to the
wonderful simplicity of it.
Very nicely done,
Take care,

It seems funny to me how much this shot parallels an "adult" wedding.
She is in white/light colors
He is in black/dark colors
She is the center of attention, therefore in focus
He is not the predominant subject, therefore not in focus
She has a pacifier = big diamond wedding ring
He is contemplating how to pay for that pacifier = big diamond ring
