Look forward to hearing everybody's faves! :thumb

Much resistance? I just got one for my wife. Her phone was dying and she wanted something a little more advanced for texting, etc. She also thought it would be nice to be able to check email/go online when she's out with the kids at playgrounds, etc...

Anyway, it's awesome. I think I steal it at least a couple times a day when she's not looking. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Since it's not MY phone, however, I have not looked around much for photo apps. I did dial up dofmaster.com the other night, though, when looking for a hyperfocal distance, that was super handy.

For various reasons we needed to switch providers (wanted GSM for travel purposes, and our existing provider was INSISTING we upgrade to their newer plan with our next phone swap, which would have cost us about $50 a month more than we currently pay for exactly the same service). So... we've switched to ATT and, while I've been a Palm gal for years'n'years, the iPhone does the things I need and want it to do better than the Palm Pre, so I finally caved, despite my resistance to all the iPhone fanboi/gurl hype which has put me right off it from the outset! I'm sure I'll enjoy it once I have it, but it felt terribly disloyal to abandon Palm (who were doing what the iPhone does from teh day they launched the Treo, even if it wasn't quite as slickly done).

Anyway, bring on the apps! Looking forward to some of the goodies I've seen others use that were only available for iPhone thumb.gif Does anybody know/remember where the lighting-designer one is and what it's called? I think I saw it on Strobist, but now I can't find it....

At first I was like, "Resistance? Can you name a mobile device better than the iPhone?" But you're right, I love Palm, but apparently not many other people did. The Treos were great, btw I'm in the market for one(non-phone purposes), got an old one you want to get rid of?

Actually, I do. My (Sprint) Palm Centro will be defunct by the end of the week after we've finished the switch, and I have an old but barely-used Tungsten (perfect condition). I think I still have my Treo 700p too (although it died, which is why it got replaced with the Centro - it would only be good for parts, I suspect, although it might be possible to get it up and running again.).

PM me if any might be of interest and we'll see if we can strike a deal!! thumb.gif

Oh, and the lighting design app I was thinking of is called Strobox. Free. Pretty cool thumb.gif
