Ngungun
Went & climbed (well crawled part of the way) up Mt Ngungun today. Its a chain of several volcanic plugs about an hour north of here. About 1600-1700 odd feet high. The chain is called the 'glass house mountains'
Lot of native grass on the way up.

Not 'steve' friendly :rofl

What a backyard !

Yep...those flying ants are still at the top !

:humungus

The town of 'Glass house below.

Mt Tibrogargan...my next climb. You can see the track on the right.

The track up Mt Tibrogargan again. Pineapple farm in front.

I will give these 2 a miss.

A ray of light half way up.

Some pretty tough flowers at the top.

Sadly on the way home i was reduced to 'bird shots'...oh the horror.

Mt Warning on monday (hey...it sure beats work)
3450 feet
Good shots of NgunNgun by the way, the track up has eroded a lot since the last time I was there ... almost like a flight of stairs now, I remember one particular climbing trip we were descending the (at that time reasonably uneroded) track after dark and my mate lost his footing with a 30+kg pack on...he was out of hospital within a week
P.S. you can almost see my old house in some of those shots
nice work.
I really love those fern shots. I drove through from here (armidale) up to Grafton through the guy fawkes national park but the road was so narrow and twisty there was nowhere to pull up to get shots
Oh i have to get back in the bush one day...
Your photos have got my feet itching...I can almost smell that bush smell and hear all the birds...

That area you mentioned near guy fawlks is one of my favorite bits of 0z. There is 800 acres with a klm of river front for sale there for $400K. I keep thinking i could adjist some cattle on it & put half an acre of vegies in etc etc etc ...nothing left to do but photograph.

You are becoming a real bird shooter. Looks like you better start saving up for the 500mm lens.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"
'lay down with dogs long enough..................' :cry
That 400 prime is good for a super fast focus on a BIF though.
I'll take the birds
