Went & climbed (well crawled part of the way) up Mt Ngungun today. Its a chain of several volcanic plugs about an hour north of here. About 1600-1700 odd feet high. The chain is called the 'glass house mountains'

Lot of native grass on the way up.

Never been up Warning but I hear it's a SLOG ... more power to ya mate.

Good shots of NgunNgun by the way, the track up has eroded a lot since the last time I was there ... almost like a flight of stairs now, I remember one particular climbing trip we were descending the (at that time reasonably uneroded) track after dark and my mate lost his footing with a 30+kg pack on...he was out of hospital within a week .

P.S. you can almost see my old house in some of those shots .

Oh...I went there 2 years ago and its absolutely gorgeous country Have a great time ay Mt Warning, I did that climb in 2001. If you have never done it before, be prepared for steps:D

I really love those fern shots. I drove through from here (armidale) up to Grafton through the guy fawkes national park but the road was so narrow and twisty there was nowhere to pull up to get shots

Oh i have to get back in the bush one day...

Your photos have got my feet itching...I can almost smell that bush smell and hear all the birds...

Yep there are lots of warnings about being caught up in some of them after dark.

M i g h t have the day off tomorrow...just do a bush walk instead of mt warning

That area you mentioned near guy fawlks is one of my favorite bits of 0z. There is 800 acres with a klm of river front for sale there for $400K. I keep thinking i could adjist some cattle on it & put half an acre of vegies in etc etc etc ...nothing left to do but photograph.

Nothing wrong with corn......& butter. There is a definite over abundance of places around here to photograph. I plan to walk them all.

I saw that land for sale and got ideas in my head too....Oh if only I were rich If you are ever in the new england area give a shout. I have walked the Oxley national parks and all the waterfalls many times, but have never been on a real photo trek because rugrat is too young and babysitters are hard to come by:giggle. Last time I went it was really dry and the falls weren't even running, but we have had a bit of rain and it's all starting to look good again. I was almost going to stop at Ebor falls on the way home but I was short of time I wanted to get home before dark. Wollomombi Falls is one of my favourite walks, and Point Lookout also. I'm hoping to get up to Queensland again soon, I have been dying to get back to the Sunshine Coast since I left.

Problem was that i had a few hundred on me for a while after i took the shot & then they got the idea to bite/sting me at once & so all bets were off from that point on...the little buggars were glad they had wings cause half of them went over the edge !
