Facebook and the "Like" Button

I have a two part question or maybe a suggestion if there isn't a solution already at hand. I have done some searches but can't find anything.

Part one:
When someone "Likes" a photo for facebook it only shows the file name which is a link for someone to go to. Is it possible when someone "likes" a photo that it links with a thumbnail of the photo also. Just as if someone was pasting a url into the status. Maybe this is something that can't be done on the SM side and needs to be done on the FB side.

Part two:
Also if you have a photo that is liked by multiple people it shows how many people like it next to the button. Is there anyway to click on the number and find out who likes it. It would be nice to see who likes the photos. Or maybe set up a notice like with comments that it notifies the owner who likes the photo.

If there is some way of changing the options on this I would appreciate it if someone could let me know. If this can't be done at this point but can be done with some tweaking. Feel free to put it on the list of things to do.

Thanks

The behavior of the Like button is entirely controlled by facebook, not by Smugmug. Smugmug just embeds some FB code into their page and the FB code displays and manages the Like button. The behavior of that Like button is entirely up to FB. That's why it looks and behaves the same pretty much everywhere you see it. So ... unfortunately, I think these questions are questions for FB, not for Smugmug.

Apparently if enough people like the same thing, it will show a thumbnail, but that doesn't seem to happen often for single photos.

Thanks John. I kind of figured it was a facebook deal.

Can i remove this button? I don't use Facebook and Facebook is tracking every ip-address by this button, whether they use Facebook or not.

In your control panel, you can turn it off globally. It's called "Quick Share" in the Settings tab.
