getTree does not return sub categories

The documentation for 1.2.2 says gettree should return subcategories nested within categories.
The output im actually getting seems to only show categories->albums, with no nested subcategories. Is this expected?

    I double checked and the call appears to be working fine on all my accounts. Can you please provide the nickname for the account that you are using so I can take a look.

    I compared your site with what the api is returning for smugmug.users.getTree, as far as I can determine (from manual inspection of about two dozen albums) the response appears accurate.

    Albums will only appear in a SubCategory when they have been defined within one on your site...as far as I can determine you haven't actually used SubCategories on your site.

    If that is incorrect, please point me to such a gallery.
